Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2023 Kia Sportage- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on our 2023 Kia Sportage. This is gonna give you a 4-way connector on the back of your vehicle, giving you running lights, brake lights and turn signals with any trailer that you plan on towing. And even some accessories like bike racks will utilize something like a 4-pole to give you those signals at the back of a bike rack if you plan on using that with your Sportage. Our connector is located pretty far down underneath but it's attached to a bracket on our hitch. Not included, but it does utilize that really well in our kit, our kit today and the kit does come with a dust cover to keep it protected whenever it's not in use. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Kia Sportage- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we're gonna installing the Curt T-Connector 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Harness, part number C56251. This connector's gonna give you all your necessary lights you need for your trailer. It's got your left turn, right turn, brake, and tail amp signals. It comes with a dust cap so you can store it outside your vehicle or if you leave it outside while not connected to your trailer, you can cover it up, keeping out any dirt and debris. This Curt harness has a control box that will protect your vehicle circuits from any shorts or overloads on your trailer. The control box uses a separate fused power circuit from your battery so it doesn't draw any additional load on your tail amp circuits in your vehicle, potentially causing one of those fuses for your vehicle's tail amps to open.We're gonna start our installation under the vehicle and locate the vehicle's factory harness that we'll be plugging our T-Connector harness into. more

So here's what our wiring's gonna look like. I do want to mention that the bracket that it's mounted to here is sold separately, but you can pick one up on our website. The wiring kit itself is gonna give us a four-pole flat trailer connector, and it's gonna come down right by our hitch so our wires can be ready whenever we're gonna do a tow.It's gonna give us all of our required lights to get down the road safely, and within the law. Giving us our taillights, brake lights and turn signals. Now, it is a custom kit, so it's gonna cut down the installation time quite dramatically, and we're not gonna have to splice in or cut any of our factory wires. more

Now each one of our kits is going to use a power taillight converter, and that's going to keep our vehicle protected from any issues that may arise on our trailer end, and keep any feedback from damaging our electrical system. Now our power converters are going to run off of our battery directly in each one of our kits. Now they do provide us with enough wire and all the hardware to get everything in place, and since it is running directly off the battery, it is going to protect our vehicle from having an overcharge on our electrical system. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Kia Sportage 118526- Video
Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage we're going to review and install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118526. Now you're going to need this wiring harness when you pull a trailer to provide the basic lighting functions. We're going to have our green for right turn, yellow for left turn, brown for running lights and white for our ground signal. This will also provide our brake signal too. Now our wire harness has a built in four pole cover right here to help protect it when it's not being used. And since it's fused into the end here it'll be very hard to lose it at all. And this will be a great addition to a small trailer. more

This is what your wiring kit's going to look like when you pull it out of the package. There's the end goal, that's going to be our 4-pole flat trailer connector. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2007 Kia Sportage we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the CURT t-connector vehicle wiring harness with the four-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is C55529. This is what our wiring kit's going to look like when we pull it out of our package. Of course here's our four-pole flat trailer connector. This is going to give us right turn, left turn, running lights and ground to our trailer or cargo carrier, whatever we plan on plugging into. To do that it's going to actually take the signal from the factory connector located at the rear passenger side of the vehicle, sends those signals into the converter box, where it's then going to convert those over to a usable signal for the trailer. more

Now when we're ready to use our wiring, all we have to do is open up our cargo area here. Find it located underneath, and pull it on out. Now you'll see here where it's gonna go over a threshold. It's nice and cushy there, it's gonna give it plenty of room. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2014 Kia Sportage, we'll be installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118526. The first thing we'll need to do, is open the rear hatch door of our Kia, remove the rear carpet, and the rear organizing tray. Put that out of the way. We can remove the three screws on our rear threshold trim piece. Now with those three screws removed, we'll go ahead and set them to the side. Next step, is removing the center threshold trim. With the threshold loose, before it will completely release, we have to remove this little trim piece which covers the rear hatch lock. The next step is, we have to loosen up this panel on the driver side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Kia Sportage 118401- Video
Today on this 2007 Kia Sportage were going to install part number 118401 from Tow Ready. This wire harness uses a port thats underneath the bumper on the passengers side behind the rear tire. Well remove the cap and install the wiring harness into that connector. To make your install of the wire harness a little bit easier, well loosen up the bumper cover to have better access so we can hide the wires behind the bumper bracket supports. Then well go ahead and route our four pole wire to the center of the hitch. Well actually use a loom clamp to help hold the wires up away, and that will be part number A0500. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Sportage, were gonna install a Tow-Ready T1 Connector part number 118526. First, were gonna need to access the cargo area of the vehicle. Next were gonna remove the rear cargo liner and flooring. Were gonna remove the rear cargo tray compartment also. Now, with that out of the way, well go ahead and remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, there are three fasteners that well have to remove first. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Kia Sportage 118401- Video
Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118401. This wiring harness is very easy to use. It is a simple plug in and there is an open ended port on the Sportage that our harness is going to plug into. If we go underneath the vehicle right near the bumper over on the passenger side you can see we have got our wiring harness with two plugs at the end of it here. The one taped on the top is the one we are looking for. This is the one we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into. Cut back the tape that is holding the two together. This does have a cap on it so remove that. There is a tab on top that if you press that in, you can pull the cap right off. 00:45 more
